Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe fruit comes off old vines (30 years) at Knollvine Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The style is understated, and the sipping is easy. Not the blockbuster, meaty, Rhone-ish version we see a lot of out of the south, but a sweeter Barossa style with soft, floral, black fruit and spicy oak from a 10-month sleep inside the French version. Drink or hold. Pricey for the style.Tasted: 17 October 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Knollvine Vineyard in Okanagan Falls, these 30 year old vines spent 10 months in new French oak. Perfumed violet, peppercorns, dusky cassis fill the juicy, full palate, ripely sweet with black fruit, and amply framed by spicy oak to a peppery finish. A pretty version of this Okanagan star red grape, and one drinking very well now, in youth.Tasted: 19 November 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from 30-year old vines at Knollvine Vineyard in Okanagan Falls, this shows quite a youthful nose, with dusty oak at the forefront right now after aging for 10 months in new French oak. Underneath, there’s a confected quality to the fruit, but without the savouriness typical of Okanagan syrah. The abundant oak gives a slight perception of sweetness to the palate, but it still retains a juiciness thanks to its 13.3% abv. The soft tannins make this approachable now, but if possible I'd give this some time to try to allow the oak to further integrate.Tasted: 17 November 2020Tasted by: Prices:
